About the business and the role

Chevalier Wholesale Produce Limited is a wholesale produce company who have been in the business for almost 50 years. We have sites in Auckland, Christchurch and Wellington and we supply both nationally and internationally.

We have been a leading NZ wholesale distributor of fresh produce for almost 50 years and have remained a family owned and operated business.

We are currently on the lookout for a sales representative who has excellent negotiating skills and be able to develop client relationship with our customers. 

Job tasks and responsibilities

The main task for this position will include but not limited to:

• Developing and maintaining channels of business for both existing customers and identifying new client opportunities
• Proactively meeting sales targets
• Cold calling to help bring in new businesses/opportunities
• Managing client expectations and meeting their needs
• Developing sales reports and providing monthly status updates
• Performing and reviewing products, pricing and services
• Travelling around the Christchurch region meeting and liaising with customers

Skills and experience

To be successful in this role you would need to:

• To be able to have excellent negotiations skills
• Computer Savvy
• Sales experience (at least 1 year)
• Able to work autonomously or within a team
• Excellent customer service
• Reliable
• Excellent familiarity with NZ produce and a passion for food
